Учим глаголи за въвеждане на чужда реч (reporting verbs), които предават не само думите, но и намерението на говорещия. Всеки глагол има своя конструкция: с инфинитив (offer, refuse, promise), с обект и инфинитив (advise, warn), с -ing (deny, admit, suggest) или с предлог и -ing (apologise for, accuse of). Това прави текстовете по-точни и разнообразни.
Какво да запомним
- + to: offer, promise, refuse, agree (She offered to help me.)
- + обект + to: advise, warn, tell, ask (She advised me to see a doctor.)
- + -ing: deny, admit, suggest (He denied taking the money.)
- + предлог + -ing: apologise for, accuse somebody of
- suggest + -ing, а не suggest + to
